TOPEKA – On Thursday, April 1, 2021, the Kansas Department of Revenue’s Division of Vehicles launched KnowTo Drive Online, a web-based version of its driver’s testing exam, powered by Intellectual Technology, Inc. (ITI). The introduction of this testing service adds to the Department’s expanding online services it provides. Obituary: Mark Patrick Miller

Mark Patrick Miller, 62, of Marquette, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.  Mark was a lifetime McPherson County resident. Mark was born on March 17, 1959, in McPherson, KS, the son of Leonard Leo and Lois Mae (Hufferd) Miller.  He graduated from McPherson High School in 1978.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying  hunting and fishing. He also loved photography and astronomy.  He spent most of his working years as an HVAC technician. Survivors include: seven siblings, Leonard “Lenny” Miller, Jr. (Sharyl) of McPherson, KS, Mary Beavers (David) of Republican City, NE, Ronald Miller (Colleen) of Marquette,

Obituary: Samuel Nelson Darrah

Samuel Nelson Darrah, 51, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 5, 2021.  He worked at AGCO in Hesston and City Ice in McPherson. Samuel was born on November 29, 1969, in Toledo, OH, the son of Bryson James and Winnie (Voth) Darrah. Survivors include: three children, Bryson Darrah, Joey Darrah, and Ashton Demaio, all of McPherson, KS; and former wife, Maria Demaio of McPherson, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryson Darrah and Winnie Cline. No service will be held at this time. Memorial donations may be made payable to Stockham Family Funeral Home (to

TOPEKA – Kansas outperformed the March estimate by $52.3 million, or 9.7%, with $590.1 million received in total tax collections. Phyllis June Goering, 90, of McPherson, KS, passed away at 10:35 p.m., Wednesday, March 31st, peacefully, at Pine Village, Moundridge. Phyllis was born in McPherson, Kansas on August 1, 1930, a daughter of Mildred Helene (Casstevens) and Lester A. Brown. Phyllis attended Roosevelt grade school, McPherson Junior High, and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas, in 1948.  She then attended one year at McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas, before transferring to Kansas State University at Manhattan, Kansas, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Data Reviewer at Pfizer of McPherson and as an assistant softball coach for Lindsborg Smoky Valley High School. Devon was born on June 1, 1983, in Lindsborg, KS, the daughter of Dennis Jeffrey and Jazell SusAnn (Scott) Bersuch.  She attended McPherson schools and graduated from McPherson High School in 2001.
