Exercise is an important key to living a healthy life. There are many forms of exercise; Aerobic Classes, Workout Videos, Weightlifting, Crossfit, Biking, Basketball, Church League Softball, and the list goes on.
There is a certain mindset that lifting weights will make you look bulky. If you’re worried about looking like a “roided-up” bodybuilder, you’re most definitely not going to end up looking like that, unless that is what you’re going to strive for. Setting goals is one of the major keys when it comes to lifting weights. You may want to lose 10lbs, gain 10lbs of muscle, increase some of your maxes, or become stronger. Without a goal, you have nothing to push you to keep going. It’s the “light at the end of the tunnel” of your fitness journey.
Lifting weights strengthens your physique, which can add some mass, but if you add in more cardio, you will go for that “Cut” look. It’s all about balanced workouts. You can still be strong, but not bulky. In my opinion, women tend to crush leg day better than most men. A lot of it is body composition, but you see more men focusing on the upper body to compensate on those small calves.
Too many people don’t understand the way it works. Everybody’s body is different, but with the proper education and plan, the results you want will follow. Shane at BuySupps has provided me with a great plan. I feel confident in what workouts he has given me because he knows what he’s talking about. Not only has lifting given me the physical results I wanted, but the mental boost has been great too! I feel much more confident in myself.
So ladies, get off the couch and come join me at the gym. We’ll be beasts together.
