I would like to take a moment to introduce myself or reintroduce myself. Many may know me from my time working for another publication in McPherson, but for those who don’t I wanted to touch base and let people know who I am.
I am Teri Hansen and my roots to McPherson County run deep. I was born in Moundridge, raised in Roxbury, went to school in Lindsborg, lived in Marquette for four years and I worked in lived in McPherson for six years. I also have family in Mac and Inman, wonder if they’ll admit it .
I graduated from Smoky Valley and ended up enlisting in the U.S. Army. I was a Soldier for 10 years. In that time, I served in Europe, the Middle East and all over the United States. After a decade of military journalism, I came home.
I was brought on as a staff writer at the newspaper years ago and within six months I was promoted to editor. I loved my job there and I am passionate about journalism and was there for a number of years. But times they are changing, and I decided to leave and try my hand at something new. As it turns out, I was meant to write, and I have found that in the time I have been gone, something is missing.
This is why I am so happy to be back in McPherson and writing. I am doing what I love and doing it for a town I love. McPherson Buzz is a publication I am excited to support. I will not be restrained by some of the rules of before and I hope to make this a news source that McPherson can be proud of. I want to work hard for the residents of McPherson. I will do everything I can to provide news that is timely, accurate, relevant and free to our readers. We want you to know what is happening and we don’t want to make you pay for information.
With that being said, I need your help. Please tell me what you want to hear about. I want to know what is important to you! McPherson Buzz is just that, the buzz about McPherson and we want to do it justice. This is your publication, so tell us what you want in it. You can reach me any time at firstname.lastname@example.org!
