Mikel Golden and Todd Martens were brought forward at the McPherson City Commission meeting, Monday morning, to make their positions as chief and assistant chief of police official. Each was appointed to their position via a unanimous vote by the mayor and commissioners of the city.

The McPherson Bulldogs squared off against the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in a KCAC matchup and won in five sets, 25-23, 25-16, 18-25, 18-25, 15-5. This win moves the Bulldog’s record on the year to 9-7, 2-1 in KCAC.

Steve attended Galva High School where he was a star athlete and proud Chieftain. Post-graduation, Steve attended Hutchinson Jr. College and worked for local McPherson companies, namely Kit Manufacturing and Johns Manville, from which he retired in 2003.

This week the Bullpups face the Buhler Crusaders in a huge AVCTL Division III matchup. Both teams are 4-0 and the winner of the game will likely go on to win the division. McPherson Stadium will likely be raucous with fans from both sides filling the stands.
