The McPherson Bullpups dominated the Abilene Cowboys for a final score of 48-3. The Bullpups dominated in all phases of the game last Friday. When they threw the ball, it was effective. When they ran the ball it was extremely effective. Senior Kaleb Hoppes and Junior Dylan Rinker were nearly perfect Friday night, with only one incompletion between them. Hoppes had 66 passing yards and a touchdown and added 47 more on the ground, plus a rushing touchdown. Senior Jacob Feil had a standout game rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown on 9 carries for an 8.4 average yards per carry. Senior Cody Stufflebean stifled the Cowboys on the defensive side of the ball with 5 total tackles and one tackle for loss.
This week the Bullpups face the Buhler Crusaders in a huge AVCTL Division III matchup. Both teams are 4-0 and the winner of the game will likely go on to win the division. McPherson Stadium will likely be raucous with fans from both sides filling the stands.
