Quincy’s corner: Picks of the week

Looking to bounce back this week after going o-fer last week.

(Home Team in CAPS, Picks Highlighted)
Chicago Bears (-5.5) vs. Oakland Raiders
Green Bay Packers (+3.5) vs. DALLAS COWBOYS
New England Patriots (-16) vs. WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Los Angeles Rams vs. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-1.5)

Looking to bounce back this week after going ofer last week. The Bears are playing the Raiders in
London. Defense travels! It seems like the Bears have scored a defensive touchdown every week. I also
like the fact that Chase Daniel will be starting instead of the injured Mitch Trubisky. Daniel is a
competent back-up who might be more effective in Mark Helfrich’s offense. The Packers are at Dallas
this Sunday. Dallas turned in an underwhelming offensive performance against the Saints, they looked
completely discombobulated on that side of the ball. The bad news for them is the Packers defense is a
legitimate top 5 defense in the league this season. I think the Packers defense puts the clamps on the
Ezekiel Elliot and Dak Prescott this weekend, and the Packers cover +3.5, if not win outright. The New
England Patriots come in fresh off of a tight win over a much-improved Buffalo Bills team. The Buffalo
defense is great this year having only allowed 48 points over four games. The Patriots are given a bit of a
respite this week against a Redskins team that has allowed 29.5 points a game over the last four. Add
this to the fact that the Patriots defense has only allowed one touchdown this season, and I think that
the Patriots cover 16 points easy this Sunday. On Thursday night, which is a toss-up game for many
reasons, I tend to go with the best QB and the home team. Jared Goff is a liability; I think Russ and
company pulls this one out.

Record on the Season: 0-4
