Scooter’s Coffee is coming to McPherson and will hopefully be open before the end of the year. The structure is in the process of being built at 611 N. Main St. Justin and Jessica Gillette will own the coffee shop and are no strangers to Mac.

“We are just really excited to be a part of the McPherson community,” Jessica Gillette said. “Justin and I both lived in McPherson. My first job out of college was in McPherson. So we really love the community a lot and are really excited to serve them.”

The Gillettes reside just north of Hutchinson right now. They opened their Hutch Scooter’s location this passed year. Their success in that location spurred them forward to McPherson.

“Scooter’s is experiencing some pretty rapid expansion in the Midwest,” Jessica Gillette said. “When we made the decision to start with the one here in Hutchinson we felt like McPherson was a community that could really use a drive-thru coffee experience.”

While there are plenty of beverage options in the city, the Gillettes are hoping to provide a food and coffee service everyone can enjoy.

“Currently there are some fantastic options for coffee, but specifically the north end of town is pretty underserved as far as the options for getting a fast drive-thru really quality breakfast or smoothie or coffee drink,” Jessica Gillette said.

Scooter’s Coffee began in Nebraska in 1998, by Don and Linda Eckles. They named the chain after their daughter who’s nickname was Scooter. The Gillettes are happy to be part of the Scooter’s franchise. The McPherson location will have the same menu as featured on the website, https://scooterscoffee.com, and an app can be downloaded on smart devices with menu and ordering options.

“We are really excited about our hand tamped espresso drinks. We hand tamp all of our espresso shots. We make a really good high quality coffee drink,” Jessica Gillette said. “We also have great smoothie and breakfast options like our breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches.”

So what will set them apart from others in the area? When time is of the essence, Scooter’s has your back.

“Our emphasis is on really good products, really quickly,” Jessica Gillette said. “So we are amazing people, serving amazing drinks, amazingly fast.”
