The Bullpup women’s varsity team was in full effect Tuesday night. They dispatched Wellington in two sets, 25-14, and 25-19. Their next match was against Mulvane, and they won that one quickly as well, 25-13, and 25-16. Rhian Swanson led the team in kills with 16, Brett Doile had 2 aces, 38 assists and 12 digs, all of which led the team.
Head coach Christy Doile said after the game, “Wellington and Mulvane have a higher tempo offense, which gives our blockers more time to set the block. I would expect our blockers to get more blocks and they did exactly that. We had five different kids with multiple stuff blocks.”. Doile was also pleased that she was able to get the whole roster playing time adding, “Tonight we played really well. We were able to give kids who aren’t in the varsity starting rotation more playing time.”. The two wins moved the team to 15-6 on the season.
The Bullpup women next face off against Andale and Winfield in a home non-conference triangular match on Tuesday, October 22nd.
