Political signs tampered with around Mac

With elections around the corner, residents around McPherson have seen their political signs being tampered with recently. Some signs have been pulled from the ground and laid down so they can’t be seen, while others have been outright taken. No police reports have been filed, but specific candidates for the school board elections seem to be targeted.

National vice commander of American Legion to visit McPherson on Monday

National Vice Commander of The American Legion Bruce C. Feuerbach will stop in McPherson Monday during his tour Western Kansas Posts.  The public is encouraged to come out to meet and greet Feuerbach at 7:30 a.m. on Monday at the McPherson American Legion Post 24, 401 N. Main St. in McPherson. Breakfast will be served as well. He is expected depart around 9 a.m. and he will then head to a recepion in Ellsworth.

McPherson Boys Rout Salina Central

The McPherson boys soccer team got off to a great start Tuesday night in a  confidence-building 6-1 win over Salina Central. Senior Drew Schrader scored five goals on the night in a Lionel Messi-like performance. Schrader’s five goals ties a school record for most goals in a single game. The Bullpups got 12 shots on goal the Mustangs could only muster three. Coach Adrian said of Schrader’s performance, “He wanted it more. Winners The 49ers and Patriots The 49ers dismantled the Carolina Panthers and their rookie QB Sunday, 51-13. They have the second-best defense in football, and perhaps, a DPOY AND Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate on their defensive line in Nick Bosa (3 sacks and an interception Sunday). Their defensive backfield caused Kyle Allen to throw three interceptions on the day, he hadn’t thrown one before facing this woodchipper defense. The 49ers offense continues to impress as well.
