Quincy’s Corner Week 10

Buffalo Bills (+3) at Cleveland Browns

Baltimore Ravens (-10) at Cincinnati Bengals

Kansas City Chiefs (-6) at Tennessee Titans

Right back into the swing of things this week folks! On first base, we’ve got the Buffalo Bills a 6-2 team that has one of the best defenses in the NFL against the Cleveland Browns who are sort of a football team. Now Josh Allen isn’t Peyton Manning, but Brandon Allen beat this team last week. I have no confidence in the empty sweatsuit of Freddie Kitchens. Baker Mayfield press conferences have devolved into discussions about his facial hair. Hunter Renfrow has caught more touchdowns than Odell Beckham Jr. All of this has me thinking that the Browns are in the midst of a season from hell. I also think the Bills are genuinely a solid team. Book the Bills getting 3 points in Cleveland.

Onto the Ravens and Bengals game. The Bengals are 0-8 and haven’t been all that competitive in any game this season. They’ve benched Andy Dalton and will start rookie QB Ryan Finley against Earl Thomas and his cohorts on Baltimore’s defense. I don’t see things going well for the Bengals. Wide-receiver A.J. Green, who was set to return this week, has now been downgraded to out indefinitely. He also said in an interview that he wasn’t concerned with his contract situation and if the Bengals were concerned about his injury situation that there are “31 other teams”. This doesn’t indicate a positive culture under rookie head coach Zac Taylor. He’s in over his head. A veteran like A.J. Green has no interest in playing out the string with a rookie QB. For all of these reasons, I think this game gets ugly, fast, and stays ugly. Ravens roll in the Queen City.

Patrick Mahomes looks to be back this week. He carries a questionable designation today but I’m sure it’d take a major setback for him to not be on the field this weekend. He’s going up against a team that is perfectly mediocre. Ryan Tannehill has stepped in for Marcos Mariota and, to his credit, has been slightly more effective than Mariota was. I still cannot bring myself to believe in Ryan Tannehill as a starting quarterback. Patrick Mahomes is going to slice his way through this defense as he’ll be eager to leave the bench after his absence. I like the Chiefs by two touchdowns and the spread is only -6. Good value, good pick.
