McPherson College Theatre Prepares Next Show

A musical based on a 1912 novel will make its Kansas premiere on the McPherson College stage. The McPherson College theatre department will present “Daddy Long Legs” on Nov. 21-23 in Mingenback Theatre, 1608 E. Euclid St.

USD 418 McPherson School District Recap Nov. 11

The McPherson School board convened for a regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the USD 418 Central Office. The meeting began with a number of routine items including a donation from the Class of 1974 to the Art Restoration Fund to clean the print and frame of The Castle By The Sea. Executive Director of the McPherson County Special Education Cooperative Melissa Strathman presented a report detailing the events of a recent conference in Omaha, Nebraska. The remainder of the meeting was focused around the two topics of district curriculum and facility improvement planning.

City Commission Recap Nov. 12

Hansen The McPherson City Commission met Monday morning for regular session and here is what you need to know: Community Building Commissioners approved a motion to waive the fees associated with using the Community Building for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Day Community Dinners scheduled for Nov. 28 and Dec. 25. They also approved the purchase of an International Cleaning Equipment RS26 Rider Scrubber from Southwest Plus of Wichita for $15,618.75. With completion of the Community Building, the city will now be responsible for the floor maintenance in the multi-purpose room and gymnasium, the ICE Rider Scrubber
