McPherson Theater Under New Ownership

The McPherson movie theater at 316 N. Main St. changed hands on Wednesday. No longer is it B&B, it is now the VIP McPherson 4 theater. Their first showing as such was Frozen II last night.

That motivated us to get the sale done quickly so we could be ready for that, owner Kyle Mitchell said.

The owner is not the only thing new about the theater. Frozen II was shown in an auditorium with new seating, that will eventually be in all the rooms. That along with screen placement and risers will make the building a bit more movie buff friendly. Upgrades to the building will hopefully be complete in the next year.

“It’s been a bit of a challenge,” Mitchell said. “But we are working on making the presentation better.”

One thing customers can enjoy right now is lower prices. Both the cost of a ticket and concessions have decreased:

Tickets

  • Shows before noon – $4.99 and include a small popcorn
  • Matinee – $5.99
  • Evening – $6.99

Concessions

  • Small Combo – $6
  • Medium Combo – $7
  • Large Combo $8

The movie theater also has a new website at https://mcpherson4.com/ and will soon have a new automated system on the phones for showtimes. The number has not changed and can be called at 20-241-3137.

“I think a lot of people will appreciate the changes,” Mitchell said. “I hope a lot of people come out and give us a chance to impress them.”
