Daniel Le’Voughnte Preston, 24, was booked into the McPherson County Jail at 10:03 a.m., Nov. 25 on the charges of kidnapping, robbery and probation violation. He is being held in lieu of a $50,500 bond.
Preston was transferred from Salina after facing charges there as well. At approximately 9 p.m. on Nov. 10, Salina law enforcement were called to the 100 block of North Connecticut Avenue in Salina for a call of a disorderly person. Officers made contact with Preston and discovered the arrest warrants for robbery and kidnapping out of McPherson County. When they attempted to arrest him, Preston assumed what law enforcement described as a “fighting stance” with clenched fists. After threatening to use a taser on him, Preston was arrested. After being handcuffed, he attempted to get away and bumped an officer in the process. The officer’s name tag was torn off and his pants were ripped during the incident.
In addition to the charges in McPherson County, Preston was charged with one count of interfering with law enforcement, one count of battery of a law enforcement officer, one count of assault of a law enforcement officer and one count of damage to property for the incident in Salina.
