The house on South Chestnut Stree went to Sherrie Rickerson and her family.

“Sherrie Rickerson and her family officially started moving in (Monday) afternoon after we had the dedication,” Brown said. “Sherrie has moved from homeless to an employee of STEP MC helping other people. It’s great to see her in that house and having a place to live without having to worry about where she is going to be next month.”

In 25 years, McPherson Area habitat For Humanity has built 29 homes, helping 33 families. All of that was possible  through the generosity of 75,000 hours of volunteer work.
