Bullpup Wrestlers Travel To El Dorado In Their Season Opener

Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. The McPherson High School wrestling team will start its season at El Dorado High School on Thursday evening.  Head Coach Doug Kretzer is excited to evaluate an opponent. “I’m looking forward to wrestling against someone other than ourselves,” Kretzer said. “We need to compete to see where we need to improve.” Kretzer will keep a close eye on is the 170-pound class, where Jonah Clarke will take Kai Wernli. Bullpups’ gauntlet schedule begins with 10th ranked Andover

This year won’t be any different in Kurt Kinnamon’s 25th season with the Bullpups. The boys open up the season at home against Andover High School on Friday. Andover is ranked 10th in Class 5A KBCA Preseason Standings. Strathman Values Season Openers After Missing Last Year’s

By Sports Editor  Peter Holland Jr.  Last season when the McPherson High School girls basketball team faced Andover High School in its season opener, Head Coach Chris Strathman was laying in a hospital bed, getting ready for his surgery when he was battling colon cancer. Now cancer-free, Strathman is all business and is looking forward to coaching his 15th season with the Bullpups.  Strathman missed the entire month of December while recovering from his surgery, but the Bullpups won all but one game during that span, including a 55-44 win at Andover.
