Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance employees are making the holidays happy at the United Way of McPherson County. Employees at Farmers Alliance increased their giving this year by 34%, pledging $40,590.84 to the annual campaign. Farmers Alliance then matched the employee giving dollar-for-dollar for a grand total of $81,181.68.
The campaign was led at Farmers Alliance by HR Specialist Courtney Swart, who said 88% of their employees pledged to the campaign. Special events included a service auction, where corporate management team members provided group experience packages to raise additional funds, and “change wars” where company teams competed for a pizza party, with coins counting positively to the total, and dollar bills subtracting from competing teams’ totals. The change wars raised $1,445.84 for the United Way. Swart said the United Way Campaign at Farmers Alliance is a morale booster that “helps your employees give back to the community, and do it in a fun way.”
United Way Campaign Chair Kipp Cordell said, “The commitment and generosity Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance demonstrated through their campaign is simply incredible. Their contribution will go a long way towards bettering the lives of McPherson County residents, and the United Way of McPherson County is grateful for what they were able to accomplish.”
The United Way campaign benefits 17 nonprofit programs in McPherson County. Online contributions can be made at http://www.unitedwaymcpherson.org. The campaign ends Jan. 31.
