Emergency Personnel Respond to Gas Leak

McPherson emergency personnel responded to a gas leak on North Main Street at West 6th Street, at 10:38 a.m., Dec. 5. Residents and workers in the vicinity were evacuated until the gas cleared from the area.

“Gas line was struck by a utility company placing new lines. The gas main was a 2-inch line and caused the evacuation of four businesses in the area,” McPherson Fire Department Chief TJ Wyssmann said. “Fire crews did fire suppression standby and KGS shutoff and repaired the line. No one was injured.”

Emergency personnel who responded came from McPherson Emergency medical Services, McPherson Fire Department and McPherson Police Department.
