Sammie King and the InsideOut Jazz Band will be performing “Cool Yule” at the McPherson Opera House at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 20. “Cool Yule” has become an annual tradition at the Opera House and one of its most popular holiday music events.
For the sixth time, Sammie, his band members, and wife and amazing vocalist, Michele, have been performing this show at the Opera House and donating their time and talent for its benefit. All proceeds from ticket sales go toward taking care of the historic landmark.
The InsideOut Jazz Band was formed for the preservation of Jazz and traditional big band music performances for audiences of all ages.
“We like to include all ages in the membership of the band to allow for interaction and education at all levels to jazz music,” says Sammie.
In “Cool Yule”, the band performs songs of the season, and superb renditions of the best of big band swing.
“We very much appreciate the time and effort Sammie, Michele, and the band members put into making this show happen for us each year,” said Executive Director Diane Fallis, Opera House. “This is one of our favorite events and the public loves it. The show is a wonderful way to wrap up our live holiday performances for the year – celebrating the spirit of the season with community, family and friends.”
Tickets are $30 and $20, including the preservation fee, reserved seating, and can be purchased at mcphersonoperahouse.org, by calling 620-241-1952, or stopping by the box office at 219 S. Main Street.
