The weekend was a busy on for the McPherson Fire Department. At 7:01 p.m. on Dec. 14 emergency personnel from the McPherson Fire Department and McPherson Police Department responded to a brush fire on North Maple Street.
“The call was unauthorized burning of leaves within the city,” McPherson Fire Department Deputy Chief Dennis Darby said. “The fire was extinguished and the homeowner was advised of the city ordinance of no burning of leaves/trash within the city.”
At 10:44 a.m. on Dec. 15 McPherson Emergency Medical Services and fire department personnel responded to a residential fire alarm on South Elm Street.
“It was a carbon monoxide check in a residence with no abnormal readings found,” Darby said.
Also on Dec. 15 at 6:43 p.m. McPherson EMS, fire department and police department personnel responded to a small outside fire on North Elm Street.
This too was an unauthorized burning of trash in a driveway. The fire was extinguished and individual notified of city ordinance of no burning of leaves/trash within the city, Darby said.
