Donald Gary “Don” Olson, 82, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 1:57 a.m., Friday, January 31st, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. Don was born in McPherson, Kansas on June 1, 1937, a son of Ernest Harvey and Pearl Evelyn (Bullene) Olson. Don attended Washington Elementary School, McPherson, Kansas, three years in California, then back to Washington Elementary School, McPherson Junior High School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1955. LaUna was born on her parents’ homestead, rural Miltonvale, Kansas on December 21, 1931, the daughter of Bessie LaUna (Lacy) and Jettie LeRoy Fuller. Tigers Suffer Home Loss To OCU

Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. Central Christian College basketball teams hosted Oklahoma City University on Thursday as both teams were not so successful in beating the Stars. The Central men, however, were in a similar situation with OCU. The last time the two faced off,  the Stars won in overtime, 83-79 in early January. This time, the Tigers lost 76-71. With a successful turnout, the Bullpup wrestlers came away with two AVCTL Division-III wins over Winfield High School, 55-15 and Circle High School, 84-0. All the seniors were honored before the dual and unsurprisingly, the gym was packed with McPherson supporters. McPherson’s first dual was against Winfield. McPherson Police Respond to Domestic Disturbance, Arrest Made

At 7:58 p.m. on Jan. 30, McPherson Police Department officers and McPherson Emergency Medical Services responded to a residence in regards to a caller in danger. “Officers were dispatched to an ongoing physical disturbance at a residence in the 1100 Block of Lyndon Rd. in McPherson. Officers’ Investigation revealed a 37-year-old female and a 16-year-old male had been battered by a 36-year-old male,” McPherson Police Department Administrative Captain/Public Information Officer Mark Brinck said. “Officers arrested the 36-year-old male for Domestic Battery, and then transported him to the McPherson County Jail.
