SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK.— Both Central Christian College basketball teams struggled at John Brown University on Thursday. The women fall to the Eagles 99-63, while the men lost 67-49.
Fresh of their first conference win, the Lady Tigers were not able to get any wins consistently. The CCC women struggled to put up points on a JBU team that is ranked in the top 10. By halftime, it was 44-25.
The Tigers only shot 31 percent from the field, while the Eagles were 56.9 percent. JBU’s Tarrah Stephen had a double-double performance as she dropped 26 points and 12 rebounds.
Holly Golden led the Tigers with 17 points, while Tania Lowe had 16 and Jordon Dixon had 15. The Tigers fall to 4-9 (1-5 in SAC) on the season.
The slump continues on the men’s side as this marks their fifth straight loss, making them 7-7 (0-6 in SAC).
Central hung tough defensively, but John brown dominating in the shooting and rebound category. The Eagles outrebounded the Tigers 43-25. The Tigers also struggled to make their free throws as they were 10 of 20 from behind the line.
Isaiah Rivers and Byron Staten were the top scorers with 10 points. The Tigers are back home on Jan. 16 as they take on Panhandle State University.
