The Lady Pups blew out El Dorado High School 52-22, improving to 9-0 on the season, and 4-0 in the AVCTL Division-III League play. The eighth-grade girls A team beat Hutch 38-9, while the B team lost a close one 23-21. The seventh-grade boys A team lost to Hutchinson 51-40. The B team also lost 38-17. On Thursday, the Bullpups were in Salina for back-to-back meets in the Salina Central High School and Salina South. High School division. McPherson won both divisions. Justus Hampton and Will Powers put on another record-breaking performance. Hampton broke Derrick Goodson’s record in the 200 freestyle race at 1:45.59, while Powers broke his personal record in the backstroke with 54.08. Hess Fitness Center at McPherson Hospital is bringing a new “run anytime, run anywhere” 5K concept to McPherson, Feb. 1-15. The Central Christian College men’s basketball team snapped its six-game losing streak after beating Oklahoma Panhandle State 81-64, while the women picked up their second conference win over the Aggies, 81-72.
