The seventh-grade A team had a dominating performance in their 49-4 win.  Gabe Pyle led with 18 points. It was a complete defensive shut down for the A-team and they were rewarded by making their baskets.

“It was nice to bounce back after the loss from Hutchinson,” Head Coach Tyler Brown said. “We pretty much were able to do what we wanted all four quarters.  After the first quarter it was 18-0 and by halftime it was 33-0.  We came out in the 3rd quarter and only gave up two free throws and by the end of the third it was 41-2.  And in the fourth quarter we kept it up and closed out the game with a final score of 49-4.”

The B team was in a tight ballgame but came through with a 30-24 win. Alec Harms and Brenden Doile tied with eight points. Paul Reichenberger was pleased with his team’s effort.

“I felt like our B team played great tonight in what was our first close win of the season,” Reichenberger said. “Brenden Doile came out hot in the first quarter hitting several mid-range jumpers and Alec Harms had a great third quarter attacking the basket. But at the end of the game when it mattered most, Brody Seidl was clutch with a key steal and layup. Lately, Brody has brought some really great leadership to the B team, and I was pleased to see the team rally around his energy tonight and get a win at Maize South. As the B team’s season comes to an end next Monday night, I’m confident we can get one more win to close out our year”
