Ruth J. Brandt, 75, of McPherson, KS passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2020, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital.  Ruth was born on August 27, 1944, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Cora McCall and was the youngest of five children. Ruth attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Eugene Brandt. She graduated from Central College in the summer of 1964, and they were married on July 5. They were blessed with three daughters, Anita, Debbie and Jeanne. William “Bill” Wayne Snyder, 71, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Buhler, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. Bill owned and operated Seams Unlimited, a custom embroidery business. Bill was born on April 30, 1948, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Charles E. and Marian Louise (Teter) Snyder.  He graduated from Buhler High School in 1966.  On March 3, 1967, Bill was united in marriage to Sharon Elaine Smith in Hutchinson, KS. Sandra Lee “Sandy” Beck, 80, of McPherson, Kansas and formerly of Topeka, Kansas passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2:44 a.m., surrounded by her family at her son’s house. Sandra was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 18, 1939. She attended and graduated from Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas with an associate’s degree and continued her education for several years. Sandy served her Country in the United States Air Force for two years and was honorably discharged.  She then joined the Army National Guard where she served for 26 years and retired as an E6 Staff Sergeant in 1987. Bulldogs Bounce Back To Defeat York On Saturday

Quincy Williams The McPherson Men’s basketball team got back to their winning ways Saturday night against the York Panthers, winning 73-59. The game moved the Bulldogs to 17-6 on the season and 11-5 in KCAC play. From the opening tip, it was obvious that the Bulldogs were the more cohesive team. Bulldogs Get Key Home Win Over York

Quincy Williams The McPherson Women beat the York Panthers 71-56 Saturday. The win moved the women to 11-12 on the season with a 7-10 record in the KCAC. Saturday’s game was not the cleanest game for either side as the Bulldogs finished with 29 turnovers and the Panthers committed 33. However, the Bulldogs were able to establish a lead early on, winning the first quarter 19-16. The Bulldogs dominated the second quarter winning that period by a score of 15-4.
