Through its annual auction last fall, the McPherson Healthcare Foundation recently provided a portion of those funds to upgrade the Intensive Care Unit at McPherson Hospital. Community members in attendance pledged financial support for the hospital, of which $48,000 was earmarked to improve the appearance of the ICU. New flooring and paint are the primary needs that will be addressed.
“Our ICU is seeing increased patient use with the recent addition of outpatient infusion treatments in that space,” said Terri Gehring, president and CEO of McPherson Hospital. “With seven treatment rooms, the nurses station and other areas in the unit showing years of use, it will be wonderful for our patients and staff to be in a space with fresh walls and floors to improve safety as well as aesthetics. We are extremely grateful to the event organizers and supporters of this year’s auction whose contributions will help the hospital provide better services and care to our patients and their families.”
