Player of the Week: Kassidy Beam

Kassidy Beam had another strong performance for the McPherson High School girls basketball team. The junior has been named the McPherson Buzz’s Player of the Week presented by the National Compliance Group.

In a make-up game at Circle High School, Beam tied her career-high of 22 points as McPherson took down now the Thunderbirds, 45-34, in an AVCTL Division-III matchup. Beam set the tone by knocking back-to-back three-pointers and would later shoot five three-pointers on that Friday night.

Beam has been a break-out star for the Lady Pups, stepping up in her first starting role while McPherson been dealing with a plague of injuries. this season In four of the 10 games, she has been the top scorer. This is Beam’s third game putting up 20-plus points. and now she averages 16 points a game.

The Bullpups are now 10-0 on the season, 5-0 in league-play and are No. 1 in the Class 5A Standings going into their 25th annual Mid America Classic, which will begin on Thursday. As the top seed, they will take on Ulysses High School at 7:30 p.m. at the Roundhouse.
