The McPherson County Humane Society is raising funds in a fun way. At 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 29. Bunco players will roll their dice for a good cause. The tournament will be at the First United Methodist Church, 1200 E. Kansas Ave. The entry fee is a free will donation and the event will have concessions as well.
The McPherson County Humane Society has been helping the feline friends of McPherson since 1977. This nonprofit promotes animal welfare and the prevention of animal suffering, by providing care and shelter to homeless, needy and abused animals until a loving, forever home can be found. In 2018, the humane society was responsible for 118 adoptions. They upped that number in 2019 with 146 adoptions and are off to a good start this year with six already.
This event will give the organization some of the funds necessary to continue their much-needed work with the furry residents of the county. Cash donations are always appreciated, however cat food and litter are also in high-demand at the shelter.
