STERLING — The McPherson College Women basketball team lost a close game against the Sterling College on Saturday night, losing 93-83. The loss moved the Bulldogs to 11-14 on the season with a 7-12 record in the KCAC.
This game was a showcase for the talents of Brittany Roberts, who finished with 34 points and 17 rebounds. Roberts also scored her 1,000th points in her career during the game. The 34 points were a career-high for Roberts.
The Bulldogs got off to a fast start and, at one point, led by eight during the first quarter. They’d finish the quarter with a 20-17 lead. The second quarter was the exact opposite as the defense faltered and gave up 28 points during the period. The Warriors led 45-38 at the half.
The Bulldogs won the third quarter 27-23 Maison Moseley scored 16 points and dished two assists and was a big part of the ‘Dogs comeback effort. The Warriors had a huge fourth quarter to seal the game, outscoring the Bulldogs 25-18. The Warriors guard Kylah Comely had a huge 32 point, nine assist game.
“Great back and forth game. Watching two KCACs’s best go-to battle tonight! Brittany had a fantastic game joining the 1000 point club.” Head Coach Josh Nichols said. “Thought we as a team responded after a tough loss. Really proud of the team Maison (Moseley) and Britney Jarvis had a good night scoring as well. Hopefully, this game will propel us through the home stretch.”
The Bulldogs will play at Oklahoma Wesleyan next Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
