McPherson Quilt Guild will be hosting Annarose White at the March 9th meeting at 7:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in McPherson. Annarose is a certified Laura Heine instructor and will present a lecture and trunk show on Monday. She will return to McPherson on Saturday the 14th, to conduct a workshop for pre-registered participants.

White became a certified Laura Heine collage instructor in June 2019. Since then, she has taught hundreds of students, in many classes, the joy, and art of collage the Laura Heine method. There are less than 75 collage teachers in the world and she is the only certified Laura Heine collage instructor in Kansas and Oklahoma. We are fortunate to have her teach in McPherson.

White enjoys the flexibility and creativity of using fabrics for collaging. She also teaches a variety of traditional and modern quilt classes. White has been involved in quilting since birth and was a 4-H member for 13 years.

Annarose reigns from The Beehive Quilt Shop in Wellington. Her and her mother, Connie Hart, opened a temporary location in November 2016. They opened the Beehive Quilt Shop & Bee Creative Toys in a remodeled JCPenny’s building in historic downtown Wellington in March 2018. They love fabric and quilting. Lots of love and labor went into restoring the 1910 historic downtown building.

The store is a full-service quilt shop offering fabrics, long-arm quilting, Brother sewing machines, AccuQuilt cutting machines and so much more. They are also a fantastic toy store for people of all ages – featuring LEGO, Melissa & Doug, Fat Brain Toys, SMART Games, STEM items, puzzles, trains, tractors, stuffed animals, baby gifts, Blankie Tails, and more.

McPherson Quilt Guild is a 30 plus year organization that welcomes all sewist and quilt enthusiasts of any level. The guild meets the second Monday of the month September through June at 7:00 pm at The First Presbyterian Church of McPherson. Please call Cheri’ Hanschu at 620-242-9090 or see our Facebook page for more details on guild events.
