Roosevelt Elementary Hosting an “Art Night” Showcasing Students Art

Roosevelt is hosting a Chili, Bingo and Art Show Night this Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM.  The school hosted a Chili and Bingo Night last year at Roosevelt, this is a revised version of that. Roosevelt Art Teacher Hilary Kibler said, “I really wanted to have an Art Show this year to showcase all my students’ amazing work.  Pairing it with Bingo night seemed like a great way to get a lot of people to see the work.  I have tried to showcase between 2-4 art projects from each student grades K-5.  I am estimating that there is somewhere

Fatal Car Accident in McPherson County

Alberto Garcia, 26, of McPherson, was traveling northbound in the 2300 Blk of 14th Ave. A truck driven by Chase Brown, 22, of Hesston, was traveling southbound on 14th Ave in the southbound lane. Garcia lost control of a 2008 Lexus, and swerved into the southbound lane striking causing Brown’s Ford F450 to collide with the passenger side of Garcia’s vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the southbound lanes of 14th Ave. Alberto Garcia suffered fatal injuries. Two children were in Garcia’s vehicle, ages 4 and 6. The children were transported to Wesley Medical Center with serious injuries.  One

Suspicious Death Ruled Homicide

MCPHERSON COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the McPherson Police Department have provided an update on the investigation into a McPherson man’s death. The deceased male has been identified as 63-year-old Kelly G. Peterson, who lived at the residence where he was found. His death is now being investigated as a homicide. No threat exists to the public related to this incident.
