McPherson Family YMCA to close temporarily

March 16, 2020 Based on recently updated guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Y-USA recommendations, the McPherson Family YMCA will temporarily close from 3/17/2020 to 4/1/2020, at which point we will re-evaluate.  YMCA Programs will be postponed, including:  Youth and Adult Sports  Swim Lessons  Gymnastics  Y-Kids (Pending USD 418 schedule)  Middle School Connect and Ambassadors  There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at our Y facility, and we increased our existing cleaning protocols to help prevent the spread of germs. Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Plan On Thursday, March 12th, the House Appropriations Committee improved on HB 2588, the governor’s transportation plan.  Transportation Chairman, Richard Proehl (R-Parsons) offered a balloon amendment to make a good plan better.  The amendment included the following changes:       Changed the name from the FORWARD transportation program to the Eisenhower Legacy transportation program.  This name change honors the legacy of the father of the interstate system, President Dwight D.
