Prison Staff Test Positive for Covid-19

Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) Secretary Jeff Zmuda announced today that three staff members working at Lansing Correctional Facility(LCF) tested positive for COVID-19. These are the first positive cases within a KDOC facility. The staff include a male over the age of 20 and two females over the age of 40. In order to protect the identity of these staff, no other information will be released. The KDOC has been in consultation with officials from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) on next steps to address these circumstances. In response to the current health environment, McPherson Medical and Surgical Associates, a department of McPherson Hospital, is pleased to now offer physician and provider visits through telemedicine. This technology allows patient and provider consultation through internet-based video and audio. McPherson Hospital Limits Visitors

McPherson Center for Health announces that it is suspending current visitation policies and immediately implementing temporary visitor policies to maintain a safe and secure environment for all. The new policy states: Only visitors essential for the provision of care coordination of patients will be permitted at the hospital. No other visitations are allowed in any patient care areas including ICU except under extenuating circumstances which will be coordinated through care providers.
