On Wednesday May 13, 2020, Dale R. Ross, loving son, brother, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 64 in McPherson, KS. Dale was born May 19, 1955, in Council Bluffs, Iowa and was the fourth son of Eugene and Mary (Jenkins) Ross. He was a graduate in the class of 1973 of Thomas Jefferson High in Council Bluffs.  He has two children, Stacey Ross of Kearney, NE and Scott Ross of Lewisville, TX, and two grandchildren, Celia (4) and Declan Ritz (3). During this morning’s County Commissioner’s meeting, it was decided unanimously that McPherson County would lift all restrictions regarding the COVID-19 Response to Reopening. The McPherson County Health Department is still encouraging citizens to follow suggested guidelines/recommendations set forth by the McPherson County Health Department. The following are recommendations by the McPherson County Health Department. Gatherings: No more than 15 individuals in a mass gathering where 6-foot social distance cannot be maintained between the individuals If an event larger than the mass gathering restriction recommendation occurs, we ask that a plan to keep the event safe be submitted to McPherson County

Obituary: Gerald “Jerry” W. Ryan

Gerald “Jerry” W. Ryan, age 90, passed away, Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at his home in McPherson. Jerry was born in Jerseyville, IL on January 28, 1930, to James and Aline Ryan, the only boy of five children.  Jerry graduated from high school in Delavan, IL at the age of 16. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. After his discharge, Jerry received a chemical engineer degree from the University of Illinois.  Jerry began his career with UOP in Chicago and then spent the rest of his working years as a Process Engineer at the NCRA Refinery
