McPherson Hospital shares that it is continuing to coordinate a screening clinic for coronavirus. The test administered is approved by the CDC and KDHE, and the sample is collected by a trained medical professional which results in the most reliable testing available. Patients may access the clinic by contacting their primary care provider (PCP) or McPherson Hospital at 620-241-2250.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, or diarrhea. Anyone with some or all of these symptoms should contact their primary care provider. The COVID screening clinic hours at the hospital are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. Monday through Friday.
Hospital officials say that while waiting for an appointment at the COVID screening clinic or for test results, patients with symptoms are to observe strict isolation and are to contact their PCP or the hospital if having severe or worsening symptoms.
