On Monday, May 11, the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a mill and overlay on K-15 and K-215 in Marion County. Work on K-15 will begin at the Harvey/Marion County line and continue north approximately 13 miles to U.S. 56. Work on K-215 will begin at the east city limits of Goessel and continue east approximately one-quarter mile to K-15.
Construction will occur during daylight hours and traffic will be reduced to one 12-foot lane following a pilot car through the work zone. Drivers should expect a delay of up to 15 minutes and plan extra time in their travel schedules.
Cornejo and Sons, LLC. of Wichita is the prime contractor and have scheduled this project to be completed in July, weather permitting, at a cost of $1.7 million.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approach and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
