Within the City of McPherson, fireworks may only be discharged on July 2 and July 3 from 10:00 am to 10:30 pm, and on July 4 from 10 am until Midnight. Please review the McPherson City Ordinance regarding Fireworks below for additional information. City Ordnance 34-92 on the Sale and discharge of fireworks, states, No person shall sell or discharge fireworks within the city, except between July 2 and July 4, inclusive, in each year, and Only between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., except that fireworks may be discharged from 10:00 a.m. to Midnight on July 4.

Obituary: Fred Peterson

Fred E. Peterson, 77, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.  He retired from McPherson Board of Public Utilities where he worked in Plant Maintenance. Fred was born on December 4, 1942, in McPherson, KS, the son of Alvin and Doris (Dielman) Peterson.  He graduated from McPherson High School in 1960.  On June 17, 1962, Fred was united in marriage to Linda Marie Grant in McPherson.  She preceded him in death on July 30, 2019.
