On Thursday, July 9, the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin replacing the Avenue A bridge over I-135 in McPherson County. The bridge is located approximately one-half mile south of the U.S. 56 exit. A temporary closure on I-135 will tentatively occur overnight on the weekend of July 18 while the bridge is being torn down. Traffic will follow the signed detour through McPherson. During construction, traffic may periodically be reduced to one lane in each direction with minimal delays, not exceeding 5 minutes. Dondlinger and Sons Construction Co. Inc. of Wichita is the primary contractor for this $2.3 million
