McPherson County Health Department reports 142 total confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in McPherson County. 130 of the total confirmed cases have now met recovery guidelines set forth by the KDHE. There are zero current hospitalizations and one death. ● Positive case #142 is a symptomatic female in her 50s with unknown exposure and is recovering at home. Updated information about the 142 cases includes: ● Asymptomatic cases: 16 ● Cases with unknown exposure: 46 ● Cases 60 years old and above: 33 ● Cases 50-59 years old: 22 ● Cases 40-49 years old: 20 ● Cases 30-39 years

Obituary: Sondra Kay Lansaw

Sondra Kay Lansaw, 76, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2020, surrounded by family at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  She was a homemaker, foster parent, store clerk, librarian, daycare provider, and bank teller. She was born on May 26, 1944, in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of Cleatus Edgar and Frances Agnes (Protzman) Valentine.  She graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School, St. Joseph, MO and attended Bethel College, Newton, KS.  Sondra was united in marriage to William “Bill” L.
