25 Active Cases of COVID-19 identified in latest MCHD Update

McPherson County Health Department reports 223 total confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in McPherson County. 198 of the total confirmed cases have now met recovery guidelines set forth by the KDHE. American Legion Family Night Supports MCDS

The McPherson American Legion is hosting a family night on September 17, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. The Legion is located on 401 North Main Street. They will be serving hamburgers, fries, drinks, and desserts for only $5. There will be takeout orders available, which can be picked up at the building’s back entrance. Art by Debbie Wagner on Display at McPherson Public Library

 In a show titled My Kansas: Landscapes by Debbie Wagner, the artist uses her art as a vehicle for demonstrating a more colorful view of Kansas.  Wagner challenges the myth that Kansas is drab, flat, and colorless, one painting at a time. Wagner’s show will be on display in the McPherson Public Library meeting room from September through October 27th. Homicide investigation in Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday morning in the parking lot of a Topeka apartment complex.   In the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 6, the Topeka Police Department (TPD) requested the KBI investigate in order to avoid any conflict of interest between TPD personnel and a party involved in the case. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded to investigate.   Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, multiple subjects called 911 to report shots fired at the Prospect Hills Apartment complex.
