You Drink. You Drive. You Lose. Campaign Update from Police Department

From August 24 to September 7, 2020 Officers from the McPherson Police Department participated in a the national You Drink. You Drive. You Lose Traffic Enforcement Campaign. The Campaign was funded by KDOT grants, which paid overtime for extra officers to be on the streets enforcing drinking and driving laws. McPherson Police Officers worked a total of forty-six (46) hours and contacted one hundred and seven (107) motor vehicle drivers and passengers. Larry Neal Atkinson, 66, of Mcpherson, Kansas, passed away at 12:43 p.m., Monday, September 14th, 2020 peacefully at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. Larry was born in McPherson, Kansas on February 27, 1954, a son of Charles Cornelius and Minnie Elizabeth (Chalmers) Atkinson. Obituary: Leonard Edwards

Leonard Allen “Pete” Edwards, 92, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi RMC, St. Joseph Campus, Wichita, KS.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator for several different pipeline companies across the United States.  Leonard served in the Merchant Marines from 1944 to 1946 and the United States Army from 1950-1952 during the Korean War. Leonard was born on March 24, 1928, in Hardin, MO, the son of Henry and Margaret (Bueler) Edwards.  He was united in marriage to Shirley J.
