Inman’s Chamber of Commerce is hosting their 30th annual Classic Car Show along with Santa Fe Days on Saturday, September 26th, in downtown Inman. The day’s events begin at 8:00 a.m. with a Fun Run. Registration and check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Inman Wellness Center, 404 South Main Street.
The Car Show registration is available from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the day of the show. It is $25 to enter a vehicle. Trophies will be given at 3:00 p.m. and top prizes include a crystal trophy along with cash. During this event Saltcity Cowboy Church Band will be performing live. At 10:00 a.m. a basket auction will be held.
The proceeds from this event were going to go to the Konrade family but they opted to give the benefits to Jace Ward, a 21-year old college student who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. The auction is accepting baskets from attendees to be auctioned off; so consider putting together a basket to help raise money to go towards treatment expenses.
The basket auction will take place in front of Prairie Bank of Kansas, 107 South Main Street. The 8th annual Inman Lions Fishing Derby is from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Lambert Park Pond. Registration starts at 3:00 p.m. Participants will need to provide their own equipment and bait. Prizes will be awarded to all three age groups: 6 and under, 7-10, and 11-14. A 50/50 drawing will be held at the car show and 50% of ticket sales will go to Kyle Buller, who has been diagnosed with Stage III Adenocarcinoma cancer.
