McPherson Museum Hosts First Annual 5K

On Saturday, October 31st, the McPherson Museum is hosting their first annual fossil 5K virtual run. There is a $35 registration fee per person; this will include a medal and a one-of-a-kind t-shirt. The unique design was inspired by the museum’s large fossil collection of Saber Tooth Cats, Ground Sloths, Mammoths, and others. Shirts and medals will be available for pickup at the museum or they can ship the prizes to your house.
The museum will offer free admission to anyone who wishes to run or walk around the museum building or inside around the Exhibit Hall. 17 laps around the building or 51 times around the Exhibit Hall gets runners to the finish line.

Participants can run or walk the 5K, and take a picture or screenshot of their miles along with their time, then send it to the McPherson Museum. You can also use the hashtag #fossil5k to be shared to the museum’s page and website. The two fastest times will receive a free annual family membership.
