Ruth Anne (Amdahl) Coyle, 73, of Lehigh, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Hillsboro Community Hospital.
Ruth was born on October 27, 1947, in Richmond, CA to Bernhard and Kathryn (Backlund) Amdahl. The family moved to Westminster, CO when she was seven.
Ruth graduated from Ranum High School (Westminster, CO) in 1965. She attended Northeastern Jr. College in Sterling, CO.
In 1981, she was united to Louis (Louie) J. Coyle. Ruth has a younger brother, Kenn Amdahl and his wife, Cheryl, of Eugene, OR.
Ruth and Louis’ children are Cynthia Coyle of Canton, KS, Jay Halsted and wife, Tammy, of Greeley, CO, Mark Coyle and wife, Sarah, of Fort Collins, CO, Shawn Halsted and wife, Nickoel of Hildreth, NE, and Adam Halsted of Colorado.
Ruth and Louis enjoyed raising two of their grandchildren, Shian and Caleb Halsted. Ruth has 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 14 nieces & nephews. She enjoyed the constant flow of her children’s friends in her home.
Ruth enjoyed camping in the mountains, motorcycle rides with Louis, and dancing like she was at a sock hop. She loved photography, especially night shooting.
Ruth is preceded in death by her father, mother, step-mother, Ingeborg “Inky” Amdahl, uncle, Jospeh Backlund “Unk”, daughter-in-law, Michelle Halsted, and grandson, Peyton Halsted.
Ruth will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Colorado at a future date.
