McPherson County Health Department reports 1063 total cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in McPherson County. 541 of the total cases have now met recovery guidelines set forth by the KDHE or have passed away. There are six current hospitalizations and eight deaths. McPherson County Toy Run Cancelled

Due to Covid Virus restrictions the McPherson County Toy Run scheduled for Saturday, November 28th has been cancelled.  The “Toys For Kids” distribution will still occur as nearly 500 children are helped each year so they can have gifts under their Christmas tree. McPherson area residents can still help by dropping off new toys inside the front door of the American Legion Post, 401 N. Main after 4:00 pm or at the Chamber of Commerce office, 306 N. Thanksgiving “Safe Arrival” Traffic Enforcement Campaign

McPherson, KS ( November 13, 2020) Beginning Friday, November 20, through Sunday, Nov 29, 2020 , the McPherson Police Department will join many other law enforcement agencies across the state, including the Kansas Highway Patrol, in the Kansas Thanksgiving Safe Arrival traffic enforcement campaign.  A grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will support overtime enforcement efforts.  While all Kansas Traffic Laws will be enforced, this extra provision will be aggressively targeting and removing impaired drivers from our roads. TOPEKA, Kan. – The KSHSAA has decided the best option for the 4A State Football Championship would be to relocate the game to Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson and to play the game on Friday, November 27 at 1:00 PM. Hazel Maxine Bagley, 103, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Legacy Village in Castle Pines, CO.  She was a homemaker for over 55 years and has lived in McPherson, KS, Lawrence, KS, Kansas City, KS, Louisville, KY, St. Louis, MO, New York, NY, Sun City, AZ, and Castle Pines, CO. She was born October 25, 1917, in Missouri, the daughter of Fred J. and Lottie J. (Howe) Hein.  In her early years, the family moved to McPherson, KS where she attended school, graduating from McPherson High School.
