Alternative Christmas Gift Market and McPherson Housing Coalition, Inc. are hosting a virtual McPherson Alternative Christmas Gift Market. There will be a giving page set up on Facebook from Friday, November 20th at 8:00 a.m. through Tuesday, December 1st at 8:00 p.m. Donations will be going to organizations that help citizens living in McPherson that need food and water, shelter, and other basic needs. Some businesses that will be participating in this event are: McPherson Housing Coalition Steps to End Poverty of McPherson County Mt. Hope Sanctuary, Inc. Growing Hope Globally McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity Mobility Worldwide Kansas

From November 1st through December 31st, people can shop locally and earn Candy Cane Cash. This event is a McPherson Chamber of Commerce & McPherson Main Street Holiday Promotion. As you are checking off your Christmas list, you can collect registration slips at any of the participating stores. For every $10 (before taxes) spent in the stores, you will earn a stamp/punch on the registration slip. Once you have 5 punches/stamps, complete the registration and drop it off at any of the Candy Cane Cash boxes at the 27 locations. Participants could win $1,000 or $500 in Candy Cane Cash.
