Jazz Festival Continues Virtually

McPHERSON, KAN. – Nearly 300 students from 14 area high schools and a middle school participated in the McPherson College Jazz Festival. The festival, which has drawn hundreds of young musicians to campus for the past seven years, was a virtual event this year. Jazz bands submitted video performances that clinicians adjudicated to determine ratings and awards. Youth Can Explore Holidays Around the World with the Public Library

Throughout the month of December, children and teens are invited to participate in the McPherson Public Library’s Holidays Around the World Challenge. Readers can earn badges by logging minutes and completing activities that encourage learning about various winter holidays including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and the Winter Solstice. Hospital Reports Patient Billing Errors

McPherson Center for Health announces recent miscommunication to some radiology patients due to a billing error caused by a software issue involving Zotec Partners. This is the billing company for radiologist services provided by Kansas Imaging Consultants. Some patients may have received coverage denials in error. Zotec Partners is completing corrective actions and working to notify those patients who received the denial letters. McPherson Center for Health apologizes on behalf of our radiologist group partner and advises that questions regarding these statements may be directed to the billing company at 844-465-7155.

Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

The McPherson CVB and Walgreens are hosting a virtual gingerbread house decorating contest from Monday, November 30th to Friday, December 4th. Families can pick up a free gingerbread house kit at the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau, 1111 East Kansas Avenue, anytime from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the week. Only one gingerbread house kit per family and there are limited quantities. Road Closures and Meal Pick Up Route for Thanksgiving

Since 1995, McPherson Community Thanksgiving Inc. has served FREE Thanksgiving meals to the McPherson Community. This year the process of serving the meals will be different than last year. Due to the COVID Pandemic, this year’s meals will be served drive-thru style. Meal service will begin at 11:30 am on Thanksgiving Day. Those wanting to receive a FREE meal are asked to enter the parking lot of Journey Church in the 200 blk of E. Euclid off of Elm St. Streets will be blocked off during the event with traffic flow moving south on Ash St. towards the McPherson Community
