United Way Community Response Recovery Fund Update

McPherson, KS – United Way’s Community Response and Recovery Fund has helped 112 McPherson County families this year during the pandemic. The fund was created in April and has been helping households impacted economically by the pandemic.  Assistance has been available for those who lost a job or work hours due to COVID-19.   United Way has paid a total of 77 utility bills and helped with 55 rent and mortgage payments totaling $51,545.44. Pearce, former Executive Director of the Kansas State High School Activities Association, who served 20 years with the association, passed away Dec. 6 at his home in Bella Vista, AR, at the age of 85.
