Ronald “Smitty” Gene Smith, 87, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020, at McPherson Health & Rehab.  He and his wife, Marjorie, owned and operated McPherson Laundry for many years. Ron was born on June 8, 1933, in McPherson, KS, the son of Adrian M. Smith, Sr. and Sylvia Irene (Rienbolt) Smith.  He graduated from McPherson High School in 1951.  On December 21, 1958, Ron was united in marriage to Marjorie A. After 5 years of battling cancer with such a courageous and optimistic spirit,  Mary Ruxlow, 53, of McPherson, Kansas passed away at 8:53 a.m., Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 while in the company of her husband, at her home. Obituary: Arthur Paul Wagoner

Arthur Paul Wagoner passed away on December 27, 2020, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas with family at his side. Paul was born on March 17, 1928, in Adel, Iowa to Ethel Maurine (Stine) and Claude Leslie Wagoner.  Paul grew up in the Panther Creek Church of the Brethren. Church was an important part of family life for Paul as a child and in his adult life. Paul attended a country grade school and graduated from Adel High School in 1945.  That fall, Paul came to McPherson College where he met Mary Metzler, who would later become his wife.

Carolyn Marie Walker, 89, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020, with her family by her side, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  She had lived in McPherson County her entire life and was a nurse assistant at Memorial Hospital in McPherson. Covid-19 Vaccine Not Currently Available for General Public

McPherson Center for Health officials say their clinic staff members have been receiving calls from patients asking if they can receive the vaccine or inquiring when the COVID-19 vaccine will be available. Though a limited number of batches of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine were recently received at the hospital, those doses were restricted to hospital staff based on guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices.
