Virginia L. Patrick, 80, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 12:29 p.m., Saturday, January 16th, 2021 while in the company of family members, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas. Virginia was born in rural Falun, Kansas on July 2, 1940, a daughter of Pearl Cecelia (Rupert) and Arthur Rudolph Peterson. Virginia attended White Rose Rural School, rural Falun, Kansas, Lindsborg grade school, and graduated from Lindsborg High School, Lindsborg, Kansas. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church Lindsborg, where she was Baptized, she was confirmed at Freemont Lutheran Church, and was married at Bethany Lutheran. Virginia Lee Peterson

Kenneth LaMar Martens, 88, of Inman, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi – St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.  He was a farmer and stockman and had lived in the Inman area most of his life. Kenneth was born January 19, 1932, in Inman, KS, the son of George K. and Susie (Loewen) Martens.  He graduated from Clark School, Inman. On May 29, 1955, Kenneth was united in marriage to Matilda “Tillie” Redger in Montezuma, KS.  She died November 16, 1997.  On October 19, 2001, he married Juanita (Penner) Buerge in Ithaca, MI.  She died March 19, 2014.

JaNelle Busby, 67, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 7:45 p.m., Saturday, January 16th, 2021 peacefully at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. JaNelle was born in McPherson, Kansas on August 9, 1953, a daughter of Foster B. Busby and Nan Elizabeth (Burton) Hale. JaNelle attended Lincoln Grade School, Park School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1971. Through the years JaNelle worked as a owner and operator for Bill’s Western BBQ, Galveston, Texas and then began a career as a supervisor for Time Warner Cable Company, Houston, Texas.. Thomas Suenram, 66, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:49 a.m., Thursday, January 14th, 2021 peacefully, at Diversicare, Hutchinson, Kansas. Thomas was born in Newton, Kansas on December 18, 1954, a son of Geraldine  Alice (Feuerborn) and Robert Lee Suenram. Thomas attended St. Joseph Elementary School, McPherson Jr. High and graduated from McPherson High School in  1974. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church McPherson, Kansas. Dennis Neil Pope, 74, of Gypsum, Kansas, passed away at 8:20 p.m., Friday, January 15th, 2021 peacefully at Hospice House. Dennis was born in McPherson, Kansas on January 18, 1946, a son of Earl Jonathan and Fay June (Crumpacker) Pope. Dennis attended Roxbury grade school and graduated from Roxbury High School, Roxbury, Kansas in 1964. Dennis served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge in 1971. Dale Eugene “Gene” Bengtson, 66, of Inman, Kansas, died at 6:42 a.m., Friday, January 15th, 2021 at home and went to be with his Lord and Savior after a long battle with cancer. Gene was born in Hays, Kansas on May 16, 1954, a son of Dale L. and  Elsie Yvonne (Jones) Bengtson.
