AVCTL Updates Spectator Policy to Four Per Participant

Beginning January 29, 2021 until the end of the winter activities regular season this school year, a maximum of four spectators per participant will be permitted to attend with appropriate social distancing required. Beginning on the 29th, the school will issue event-specific wristbands  to participants, and the student will give them to the spectators that they would like to attend that event. Kansas Coaches Honored by NFHS, Bordewick National COY

TOPEKA, Kan. — The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has announced that Washburn Rural’s Kevin Bordewick has been named the National Coaches Association Volleyball Coach of the Year for the 2019-20 school season. Six other coaches have been tabbed as section five award winners. Bordewick is the 37th Kansan all-time to be named a national award winner by the NFHS. In 2019, Bordewick led Washburn Rural to a 40-6 record that included a runner up finish at the KSHSAA 6A State Volleyball Championship. Hospital Announces New CEO

The McPherson Hospital Board of Trustees announced today that after an extensive search, they have selected Christopher Stipe to become the next president and CEO. Mr. Stipe will replace Terri Gehring who retired earlier this month. With over 25 years of health care management experience, Stipe comes to McPherson most recently from Manhattan Surgical Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas where he has served as CEO for three years. Gift Funds Scholarship for Future Women Leaders in Healthcare

McPHERSON, KAN. – McPherson College has announced an estate gift of nearly $1.7 million to create the Carolyn Beach Endowed Scholarship Fund – a permanent fund to award scholarships annually to students, especially women—pursuing careers in the health science field. Carolyn Beach attended McPherson College from 1958 to 1960.
